19 May 2008&& "I don't make the rules. I enforce them"
I was suppose to have a nice little extra check in my bank account today but I didn't. Why you ask? Well the IRS was suppose to deposit my stimulus check in my account. Sadly those bastards did not deposit the check in my account. Worried I called them. So this is the scoop.
Because I am a student and I file for FASFA, I have to be one of my mothers dependants. I work full time and goto school full time. I pay my taxes just like anybody else. Other than my mother helping contribute to the little amount I get for FASFA, she doesn't help me out, unless it's an EXTREME emergency, and that's only happened 2 times since I turned 18. Back to my point. So I called them and because I am a full time student and work full time and pay taxes, I am not eligible to receive the Tax Stimulus Rebate because I am a dependant of my mothers.
Wait there's more! I guess you are suppose to receive extra cash for each dependant, but because I am over the age of 17 my mother doesn't get extra cash for me.
No don't get me wrong, I didn't want the full 600.00 that I was suppose to get. I just wanted enough to help me get a little ahead.
The sad thing is, the people the truly need this money, are not getting the full amount or like myself not getting the full amount.
I am seriously considering looking into chiropractic colleges in Canada because I can tell I'm getting no where in this stupid country.
